The old Colonial Stone Farm house at Cheetah Ridge, is surrounded by beautiful gardens inside the Game Reserve
It is surrounded by 10 Superior free standing suites which all over look the watering hole. Each suite has a viewing deck where you can relax and watch any visiting wildlife and perhaps enjoy your favorite liquid refreshment

This lodge is suitable for family holidays and vacations, photographic safaris or if you need to host a corporate retreat

On the property is a self catering option as well. This a 5 bedroom house which sleeps up to 10 people comfortably. Included in the self catering rate is 1 game drive a day.

    Set apart from the Lodge, the Bush Lodge is a fantastic family get away destination and can accommodate 10 people comfortably in 5 unique spacious bedrooms one of which is an en-suite bathroom.
    There are 2 bathrooms situated in the house, one of which has a shower and the other a bath as well as toilets. The farm-style kitchen and scullery are fully equipped with all the essentials

The Lodge
Cheetah Ridge is one of the more affordable lodges on the Game reserve. You have the choice of Free standing suites overlooking the waterhole as well as family sites in the main lodge. The self catering house sleeps up to 10 people and has it's own Boma area and private garden as well as a plunge pool

Children on Game drives
Kindly note that children 12yrs and under are welcome to join us on our game drives, however; these drives will not be allowed within 50 meters of a big five sighting. Depending on the maturity of the children, this will also be at the discretion of the game ranger at the time of the siting.
** smaller children must remain quiet on drives so as to not inconvenience other guests and other game drives. Unruly behavior will not be tolerated and may result in the game drive returning to the lodge and then continuing without the children and their parents.

Arrival
Please advise your Nambiti.info reservations agent or Cheetah Ridge Lodge if your arrival time is going to differ from the one you completed on your booking form.
On arrival at Woodlands gate and after filling on your arrival form you will be directed to the parking area where your Cheetah Ridge Lodge Guide will come and fetch you.
You will be transported by Game Viewer by your Game Ranger to the Lodge.

Daily Timetable

All times are approximate and are dependent on weather and seasonal sunset and sunrise times. Visiting groups that are large enough to use one Game viewer together can further customise the times to suit themselves.

Arrive anytime from 13H00. Lunch is at 2 pm and and you can check into your tents

Game drives are at about 15h30 in winter. In summer they leave a bit later usually at 16h00

Dinner in summer is at around 20h00 and at about 19h30 in winter

In Winter, morning coffee is at about 06h30 with your game drive departing at about 07h00. In Summer your game drive will be about an hour earlier

Breakfast in Summer is at about 09h00 and about 09h30 in winter.

Check-out

Check out time is about 10h30 and you will be taken back to your vehicle after that.

Cancellation / Prepayment

A 50% deposit is required to confirm your accommodation. The balance is to be paid 35 days prior to your stay

  • More than 30 days prior to arrival : 10% cancellation fee
  • 14 days to 30 days prior to arrival : 50% cancellation fee
  • 14 days or less - prior to arrival : 100% cancellation fee

Children on Game Drives
Children Under the age of 13 years of age are welcome to join game drives but there may be a 50m Big 5 sighting approach limit at the Rangers discretion if you he feels it may not be safe to go closer.
** smaller children must remain quiet on drives so as to not inconvenience other guests and other game drives. If the Rangers feels that children are inconveniencing other guests or other game drives, or endangering themselves or the other guests by their behaviors this may result in the game drive returning to the lodge and then continuing without these children and their parents.

Parking

Visitors vehicles are to be left at the dedicated secure parking areas near the gate that they entered the reserve through. You will be picked up by and dropped off there by your game ranger.

Directions from Johannesburg to the Cheetah Ridge Lodge

Head for Ladysmith on the N3.
Once you have entered KwaZulu Natal via Van Reenen, look out for the Ladysmith Toll off-ramp (at the bottom of Van Reenens Pass).
Turn left and drive toward Ladysmith on the R103.
When you arrive in Ladysmith, drive straight through, following the N11 Road to Newcastle.
From the last traffic lights leaving Ladysmith travel for about 7kms.
Turn Right onto the D45 Road, follow for about 10kms, at the Y-Junction turn right, travel along side the game fence for 2 km until you reach the gate-house where you will fill in an arrival form

Directions from Durban

Travel on the N3 through Mooi River Toll Gate, past Escourt to Ladysmith (direction Harrismith / Johannesburg).
After Escourt, take the Bergville / Colenso R74 (R103) off-ramp / exit 194, turn right at the top of the off ramp and travel past Colenso towards Ladysmith / Newcastle.
Cross the bridge (Klip River [also known as First Wagon Bridge] into Ladysmith and continue following the directions for the N11 to Newcastle.
Look out for the following land marks: Marks Tyres on left, Game on left and Kentucky Fried Chicken on left.
At the traffic light intersection with the Caltex Petrol Station on the left continue straight over the railway bridge and past TFS on the left and under another railway bridge. At the next traffic lights continue straight (N11) towards Newcastle.
Travel for 10kms and look out for the brown Nambiti sign on the left and a small sign reading D45.
This sign is also on the left of the N11.
Turn Right onto the D45 Road (road), travel for 10,3kms; turn right at the Y-Junction (onto the D46) and travel for 2 km until you reach the entrance to Nambiti Private Game Reserve (Electric Gate and Thatched Gate-house).
