LIONS VALLEY LODGE – PRIVATE GAME RESERVE

Lions Valley Lodge is a private game reserve situated on 21,000 acres of the Nambiti Conservancy. This luxury safari reserve is nestled in the Ladysmith area of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, within easy reach of the central Drakensberg and many of the historic battlefields. This malaria-free virgin bushveld area with its mixed vegetation of savannah grasslands, indigenous trees and shrubs is home to the Big Five as well as offering the ideal habitat for a large variety of antelope, smaller game species and an abundant birdlife.

Visitors to Lions Valley Lodge are accommodated in exclusive, freestanding luxury thatched suites, offering guests maximum privacy. The decor of each of the ten suites follows a special individual theme; and all are designed with areas for extensive relaxation.

This region is steeped in history and is particularly well known for the Battle of Elandslaagte which was fought on the Reserve, during the Anglo Boer War.

Guests to Lions Valley Lodge enjoy informative early morning and late afternoon game viewing safaris, accompanied by our experienced game rangers

Lions Valley Lodge : Accommodation

Visitors to Lions Valley Lodge are accommodated in exclusive, freestanding thatched suites, offering guests maximum privacy. The ten suites are constructed in a most appealing manner from natural, locally sourced building materials. The decor of each of the suites follows an individual theme and each suite is designed with areas for extensive relaxation, including a lounge with a built-in fireplace and a mini bar.

Every comfort has been catered for, from the luxurious bedrooms with walk-in cupboards, to bathrooms with two feature baths that invite long, indulgent soaks. There are 'His' and 'Hers' showers in the bathroom, as well as outdoors for that added touch of magic under the African sky. Guests can relax and reinvigorate themselves in their outside private Jacuzzi, or simply laze around on their patio enjoying the panoramic view over the game reserve and waterhole.

The ten Lodge Suites feature distinctive thematic decor, from the historic Elandslaagte to the enchanting Zebra, noble Nguni, rich cultural Ndebele, nostalgic Safari, enigmatic Africa, elegant Bird, celebratory Madiba, funky Spaza and the indulgent Romance Suite which is the ultimate honeymoon destination.

Available in each suite:

  • electronic digital safe

  • hairdryer

  • bathrobes

  • fireplace stocked with logs from the reserve

  • heated towel rails

  • electrical outlets that provide 220 volts

Childrens Policy:

Maximum of two children in a suite sharing with their parents.

Children are to be accompanied by an adult at all times. The lodge is not fenced and this is a Big Five reserve.

A separate game drive for these youngsters may be organised, however this is subject to a game viewer and guide being available. For safety reasons children under 4 years cannot go out on game drives. A baby- sitting service can be arranged to care for these youngsters.
