The Lodge
Nambiti Hills is in the South of The Nambiti game reserve.
To Maximise the fantastic views it has glass-enclosed dining, lounging and bar areas which give you panoramic views over the rolling hills and bushveld by day. Between activities their is wide deck to relax on and view the bushveld during the day or in the evening use it for a spot of star gazing. Without a cities ambient light pollution, the night sky can be amazing in the bushveld.
The wide veranda with neighboring bar, also looks onto a waterfall that falls into a rock swimming pool.

Indoor and boma fires, offer romantic cosy winter evenings after the afternoon guided game drives.

Children on Game drives

No safari activities are permitted for children under the age of 6. Game drives are offered to children 12 and under, only at the discretion of the lodge manager and after the Game Ranger has assessed their maturity level. Children in the lodge must at all times be under the control of their parents. Parents must ensure that the experience of other guests is not compromised.
Babysitting services are offered at the cost of R50 per hour, subject to availability, during game drives and evenings.

Please advise your reservations agent or Springbok Lodge if your arrival time is going to differ from the one you completed on your booking form.
One arrival at Woodlands gate and after filling on your arrival form you will be directed to the parking area where your Springbok Lodge Guide will come and fetch you. You are entering a big 5 Game reserve, please drive carefully and be responsible if you happen on any sightings on your way to the parking.
You will be transported by Game Viewer by your Game Ranger to the Lodge.


All times are approximate and are dependent on weather and seasonal sunset and sunrise times. Visiting groups that are large enough to use one Game viewer together can further customise the times to suit themselves.

Arrive anytime from 12H00. Lunch is at 1 pm and and you can check into your tents from 14h00 hours

Game drives are at about 15h00 in winter. In summer they leave a bit later usually at 16h00

Dinner in winter is at around 19h30 and a bit later in summer

In Winter, morning coffee is at about 06h30 with your game drive departing at about 07h00. In Summer your game drive will be about an hour earlier

Breakfast in Summer is at about 09h00 and about an hour later in winter.


Please be ready to leave your room by 11H00 hours and to be transferred to your vehicle by 12h00

Cancellation / Prepayment

A 50% deposit is required to confirm your accommodation. The balance is to be paid 35 days prior to your stay

  • 14 days or less - prior to arrival : 100% cancellation fee

Visitors vehicles are to be left at the dedicated secure parking areas near the gate that they entered the reserve through. You will be picked up by and dropped off there by your game ranger.

Directions from Johannesburg

Head towards Ladysmith on the N3 Toll Road.
Once you have entered KwaZulu Natal via Van Reenen’s Pass. Look out for the Ladysmith Toll off-ramp (at the bottom of Van Reenen’s Pass.) Turn left and drive toward Ladysmith on the R103.
When you arrive in Ladysmith, drive straight through, following the N11 Road to Newcastle.
From the last traffic lights when leaving Ladysmith, travel for ± 7kms.
Turn Right onto the D45 Road at the brown Nambiti sign. Drive for +\- 10Kms along this road, at the T-Junction turn right, travel along side the Game fence for +\- 2 kms until you reach the thatched gate house on the left hand side.
You will be welcomed by the guard, who will direct you to the secure parking area, where your ranger will be waiting to transport you to Nambiti Hills Private Safari Lodge.

Directions from Durban

Head towards Johannesburg on the main N3 Toll Road, take the Colenso / Bergville off Ramp. (About 8km after the Shell Ultra City/Petrol Station) At the top of the off ramp, turn right over the freeway and travel for +/- 20km on the R103 to Colenso. 1km after the Colenso turnoff, turn right to Ezakheni (The turnoff is opposite the Farm Stall which is on your left hand side).
Travel for 11km, you will cross over a railway bridge and come to a stop street, turn left at the stop street. (You will be passing the Ezakheni Industrial Area on your right hand side.)
Travel for 10 km till you come to a T Junction.
At the T Junction, turn right towards Ezakheni and continue for 14 km. (Look out for the Brown Nambiti Sign, as well as a sign D46)
Turn left onto the D46 (dirt road) to Elandslaagte.
Travel for 7km until you reach the thatched gate house on your right hand side.
You will be welcomed by the guard, who will direct you to the secure parking area, where your ranger will be waiting to transport you to Nambiti Hills Private Safari Lodge.
