The Nambiti Plains Lodge is nestled amongst the fauna & flora of the spectacular Nambiti Game Reserve, a private Big Five bush retreat and game conservancy set on 20,000 acres of malaria-free bushveld in KwaZulu Natal. Nambiti Plains Private Game Lodge is about 3½ hours drive from Johannesburg and about 2½ hours drive from Durban.

Nambiti Plains not only offers you the Big 5, but also boasts incredible bio diversity including savannah, grasslands, thornveld and tall acacia trees. It is home to several rare bird species and an array of plains game, and of course, the entertaining hippopotamus.

Nambiti Plains Lodge lies nestled within the smouldering beauty of a picturesque landscape that only Africa can portray offering 5 star luxury accommodation for the executive adventurer.

Each suite is designed with the utmost care and detail to impress and surpass the expectations of even the most discerning guest.
Each suite is spacious, underfloor heated and completely secluded. With 180 degree panoramic views from the bath, outdoor "bush shower", and private wrap around deck, guests can immerse themselves in the pure luxury that is Nambiti Plains.

We offer 5 luxury suites including a family suite - two separate suites accessed by a common entrance, divided by a solid packed stone wall. The lodge accommodates maximum 10 guests.

The main lodge is imaginatively weaved and constructed in and amongst the indigenous forest, perched on the waterhole edge, a fine line between luxury and the reality of the African wild.
Relax with a cocktail on the deck or at the Nambiti Plains Bar or take a dip in the swimming pool and watch as the animals quietly drink and bath in the waterhole.
In the evenings look forward to 5 star dinners in the boma around the African fire and feel the beat of Africa as it gently and rhythmically moves through the night.

Cuisine at Nambiti Plains

Dining is a culinary journey at Nambiti Plains, a journey that reflects and celebrates local South African flavours, one that plays on all the senses with an uncompromising commitment.
Using only the freshest ingredients and producing as much as possible on site, whether it be freshly made compotes with which to flavour your breakfast yoghurt; breads to tempt you at lunch; gorgeous fruit salsas to accompany your mains at dinner and a whole host of other delectable, freshly made goodies.

The lodge offers a full buffet breakfast. Lunch can be enjoyed either at the main area decks or privately on your room veranda. Dinner will be served in our dining area, in our cosy boma or in the bush for a truly magical experience.
Private picnic lunches can be arranged by management.

One very unique feature at Nambiti Plains is that our chefs also specialise in creating stunning, healthy meat alternative recipes.
From past experience, we've noticed that, so often, Vegetarian or Vegan guests and sometimes even Kosher or Halaal guests are not adequately accommodated when it comes to the preparation of five star meals.

At Nambiti Plains our focus is on you, our guest and for that reason believe all guests, regardless of their dietary requirements, should enjoy delicious meals, prepared in an exciting and healthy manner.
Dietary requirements are accommodated as far as possible. Our very creative chefs incorporate a product specifically formulated for Vegetarians, Vegans, Halaal and Kosher guests.
In addition, this product is endorsed by the Vegetarian Society ensuring that our high quality food standards are not compromised in any way but rather complimented.

Conferences and Corporate Safari Events and Functions

At Nambiti Plains we have the facilities to host your conference.
Although we are only a 10 bed lodge we have a self catering lodge near by that can accommodate 16 people.

The conference and all meals will be held at Nambiti Plains and your staff will be picked up by the self catering lodge after dinner to be taken to their rooms. This situation is ideal if you have higher level managers and lower level managers on one conference.

Nambiti Plains is also happy to accommodate 1 day conferences.

Battlefields

The war of the Zulu Kings and the British Empire took place in the hills surrounding Nambiti Game Reserve. If you wish to explore the battlefields of this momentous occasion for a day or even for a few days for a more detailed approach the opportunity is available. Our staff will book you on a tour with a professional guide that will explain the events to you. Or if you prefer to self-drive our staff will pack you your picnic lunch and send you off on your adventure.

Drakensberg

The Drakensberg is one of South Africa's most beautiful attractions and you may want to explore a little of what it has to offer. Adventure activities in the Drakensberg include hiking trails, horse trails, guided tours, 4x4 trails, quad bikes, golfing, trout / fly fishing, white water rafting, and rock climbing to mention but a few.

You may want to get out for an early morning hike but be back at the lodge to be pampered and enjoy a delicious lunch. Or maybe it is more appealing to you to play rough and tough in your 4x4 and push it to its limits on the 4x4 trail.

Either way there are a myriad of adventures our staff will ensure you get the most of if that is your wish.
